Well if your a guy wear a hat after you get out of the shower and keep it on until your hair dries and that will do it for sure.

Chemicals is the only way to naturally straighten it. I wouldnt do that though. I would just straighten it sometimes. I have the same hair type you do but my hair is down to my waist. I don't straighten it too much because it does a lot of damage. Try to mouse it sometimes.

If it goes puffy you haven't got the right cut and are not using the right products. Try a creamy curl product like Pureology Real Curl and an anti-humectant serum like CitraShine or Alterna's Caviar Polishing Serum

aha. you have it cut in layers. that will definately do it. next time you go to the salon, dont layer it. that's one reason why your hair is the way it is. do you blow it dry when you get out of the shower? if not, do that. it blows the wave out of it. trust me. ^^

i used to have that problem. All you have to do is 1 get a heat protectant spray, very cheap and much needed. now when you blow dry your hair, point it down towards the ground, dont blow dry your hair with your head between your knees like alot of people do, it will make it worse. get a brush with a solid backing, no holes. When you get a brush with holes in the back it makes your hair frizzier, dont know how to explain but its pretty self explanitory. also invest in something like frizzee's or something of that nature.
