How do men of color (black men) get that shiny, wavy hair texture?

Example's include singer Jackie Wilson

I already have naturally wavy hair because i'm mixed race (black and cherokee indian) but I want it to be real shiny, neat and "alive looking" without using "wave kits". Like some of the black entertainers that had the slick, wavy hair.

Are there any "Good" products I can use to achieve this look?

You just need a good gel that adds shine and has hold. I recommend the many variety's that the brand American Crew has to offer. http://www.americancrew.com/home.htm

Good luck. Hope that helps. Please add me to your contacts and email me w/ any hair questions you have via yahoo answers.

Yeah puffy has fake waves and its going to be hard for you to get those nice 360 waves because of your texture of hair. Maybe if you cut it real low and keep brushing it everynight waves might start to appear but since your hair is so soft, it might just end up laying complete flat and straight and not real waves. Kinky hair is needed for those types of waves but maybe since your bi-racial they have a 50-50 chance of comming out. lol

Don't listen to this chick above me talking about some damn gel. You can tell she don't know about some 360 waves, maybe some grease but definitly not gel. Gel is for the fake puff daddy waves
