For straight hair what process do I need to go through to get permanent wavy hair?

I'm a guy and I want to have wavy hair not to just last for a day but for a while. I hear it's a 2 hour process is this something I can try @home by myself? because I'm already going to the salon to color it! too much money soo yeah

The problem is that you color it - home perms could make it start to break because they dry it out and you could end up with funny-colored hair because it can react with the chemicals in the dye.

There are home permanents that will last a couple of months. You can buy one and try it on a lock of hair to see what happens. It's a LOT less money to buy a test kit, and then one to use if the test comes out OK than it will cost to get a perm in the shop.

You can get it permed for about seventy bucks. You can't try it at home.

Perms fry your hair, you don't want to do it. Learn to love your hair the way it is.

for cheap, put your wet hair in a braid every night, in the morning it will be wavy.(TIP: divide your hair into different sections and braid each section, better waves)

braid you're hair over night and take it down in the morning and just"let it be wavy"

why would you want wavy hair if your a guy. wierd at the least. you could perm it or my fav gerry curl...but nothing is going to be permanent, your hair texture is embedded in your dna, all new hair that grows in will be straight.

You can get a home perm kit, but they are very risky and the process to fix the damage is pretty expensive. Get what's called a full-body perm. It gives you waves and if on one day you want straight hair just brush/blowdry your hair. The next day when you shower the waves will be back. It doesn't look completely natural but I'm sure that can be changed by the way you style it etc. A full-body costs about 70 dollars but lasts for a really long time. Good luck!

Is your hair quite long? You can do it at home, but it might not take as well as at a salon, just use rollers like old women do and a hairnet to bed :) My hair's straight and my boyfriends mum (a hairdresser) tried to make it wavy, but it only just lasted for a day, some hair just won't have it being opposite to what comes naturally :)
