My wavy hair gets poofy when I brush it...?

Just want to know what to do... my hair is "beach waves" type of wavy.. but when I brush it, it poofs out to miles and kind of gets frizzy........ hard to explain. :/ When I used an anti-frizz serum (Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine) it became amazingly wavy and pretty... and lasted the whole day.. but it kind of made me feel, umm... like I hadn't taken a shower for a while, though I had just taken one the night before. So... what should I do? I mean, I want to keep my hair brushed so it looks neat, but I don't want it poofing.

I have this same problem, so I understand what you mean. i haven't tried any anti frizz serums because they seem a little pricey. I usually straighen my hair to keep it from being frizzy, but then it isn't wavy anymore, and I really like it wavy. So anyway I hope you find a solution!

If you must brush your hair, wait until it is totally dry. If you have wavy or curly hair and touch or brush it before it is totally dry, it poofs. I have curly hair and put a anti-frizz serum in it and I leave it be until its dry and then I finger comb it. If I get messing around with it prior to it being dry, I end up with frizzy poofs. So leave it alone until its dry and then do your brushing.

it sound like u have the exact same problem as me.. i hardly ever brush my hair because of this.. usually i comb my hair using a wide toothed comb when my hair is wet..most of the time i straighten my hair tho..which always makes my hair smooth and frizz free.. maybe use a moisturising conditioner or leave in moisturiser..

my hair is the "beach waves" kind of wavy too. i just comb thru it with my fingers in the shower when it has conditioner in it, and i leave the conditioner in for a few minutes and then rinse it out. you can try taking showers in the morning instead of at night...i don't brush my hair much either-except for my bangs. for the frizz "biosilk silk therapy" works good and it's also good for your skin. it keeps the frizz down more if you put it in when it's dry. but don't put too much in (especially at the roots) or it will make your hair look greasy. it's also good to protect your hair from heat damage. hope that helped!

only brush or comb it just before your shower or while your hair is wet. for other times just seperate your fingers and run them through your hair.

don't brush it. when your hair is wavy brushing it usually makes it frizzy and poofy. instead of brushing it use your hands as your brushes and combs. if that still doesn't work. go back to using the anti-frizz products but use less or dilute it with water.

dont ever ever comb not wet waves! i used to all the time but then my sister taught me that you should only comb your hair with a pick when your hair is wet so you get the tangles out then style your hair like usual.. then if you dont take a shower, just wet your hair in the morniing and start you hair over and style like usual.
