How can I have wavy hair?

I am black (mixed with Indian). When my hair is str8 it is long. I have naturally curly hair and when I wear it curly, it comes to my shoulders. I am tired of wearing my hair curly or str8. I've tried to make my hair wavy after I wash it but it always turn curly. I've tried combing in mousse and letting it air dry and then I tried blowing drying it dry- nothing works!

I really would like to have long wavy hair. Any suggestions?

why don't you get your hair relaxed to a wave? I don't know about black hair, but hispanics and whites etc can get a perm if they want wavy or curly hair. They have all kinds of new tricks now-n-days.

get yor hair wet, perferablly after u showwer or bath, plait it into small plaits, leave it overnight. open it up shake it around wala u have wavy hair. works 4 me lol

You could buy those crimping irons, they have special plates that fit onto a straightening iron, specially molded to make hair wavy. Or when your hair is wet, braid small sections or all your hair amd take it out when it's dry. I have don that before, and it really works!!! Maybe even try mousse if you haven't already!

When my hair is straight, it looks longer than when it looks curly. I hope you find success, because I hate it when MY hair looks bad!

you could try to put it on LARGE velcro rollers on damp hair . that should straighten your curly hair but still give it a wave.

wash your hair the night before and sleep with it in a braid

once you wake up the braid should be taken out and then just toss your new curls!

Ask for "a roller set" at the salon- they'll know what you mean, just tell them you want waves, not curls. bring pics too
